The Gang That Couldn't Lie Straight

The chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were looking for evidence against Jesus so that they could put him to death, but they did not find any. Many testified falsely against him, but their statements did not agree.

-- Mark 14.55-56

As I noted yesterday, two of the prosecution witnesses committed perjury, which does not exactly bode well for the veracity of prosecutors Len Gregor and Chris Arnt, nor does it exactly give me confidence that the title of "Your Honor" means anything in the courtroom of Brian House. Honor, after all, is built on the assumption that someone is telling the truth, and House's tag-team partners, Gregor and Arnt, are not exactly bringing honest people to the witness stand.

When prosecutors are bringing charges that on their face are ridiculous, and when they parade a number of witnesses in front of a jury, it is paramount that everyone have the story straight. While this is not the first time Arnt and Gregor have tried to pull off this caper, it IS the first time that a defendant has had the kind of counsel that can expose the lies, and that means showing the inconsistencies and outright falsehoods that have come to define this sorry case.

Well, it seems that yet another prosecution witness, this time another "distraught" mother, has lied on the stand. This witness was asked by the defense if Tonya Craft ever co-signed a power bill for her (to give her an official change of residence).

The woman exclaimed that Ms. Craft never did such a thing, and that if Tonya Craft's name was on the bill, it was an administrative error. During the lunch break, some members of the defense team went to the offices of the power board and found the documents in question. Both Ms. Craft AND the witness had signed them.

As of this morning, the document has not been introduced into evidence, and you can bet that Arnt and Gregor will fight it, as they don't want the jury to know that their handpicked witnesses have lied. If they do fight it, then what they will be doing is illegal -- it is subornation of perjury and hiding of evidence. Nor will I be surprised if House grants the prosecution its request.

You might recall that one of the mothers, whose child moonlights as an actress, claimed on the stand (under oath, although that hardly matters in House's courtroom) that her daughter HAD NOT RECEIVED ACTING LESSONS. The defense found the child's on-line resume which, in fact, showed she had received such lessons and it showed with whom.

Unfortunately, House disallowed that resume to be introduced as evidence. Why? I think it is obvious.

From the numerous articles I have read about Arnt and Gregor, they have had their run of the courts in their crusade to rid the world (or at least the Lookout Mountain Judicial District) of molesters and porn addicts. It is one thing to go after real child molesters, as they exist and what they do is horrible.

However, it is quite another thing to go after innocent people and then, with the help of compliant judges, to rig the trials and present "witnesses" like Suzy Thorne and Sharon Anderson and Lord knows who else that the CAC can provide to give fabricated testimony.

What we have here is a very cozy arrangement of Arnt, Gregor, and the CACs. Because the local media treats the CACs as sacred cows (because no one wants children molested or abused) and prosecutors as gods fallen from the sky, it is not hard for these people to target innocent individuals and have them convicted, with the press in tow to trumpet their exploits. This is a racket, and people need to understand that sorry fact.

This blog is amazingly informative and fact oriented. Thank you for sharing this information.

It isn't just alledged child molestors they have gone after. They also want to make accidental deaths of children into murder. They use the same people to do this, as well others.

FACT ORIENTED? He is getting his "facts" from biased sources, is NOT in the courtroom where the evidence is presented, and that is how a trial is conducted. This blog author seems to keep deleted any posts that aren't on point with his viewpoint. If he wants the truth to come out, he wouldn't delete the posts that aren't a part of his cheering section. I wonder how long this post will remain up.

Well I know my facts about my family and all that was done. How do you know, he doesn't have someone who is in the courtroom!!!

Truth remains steadfast, lies fall apart!!!

Harmony Edwards said...

He gets his information from what the news sources are reporting directly from the trial. So please go troll somewhere else. William Anderson is seeking to shed light on a horrible injustice being done to an innocent woman.

I know for a fact how these so called "forensic" investigators work, have concrete evidence of it!! I know how prosecutors lie in court!! I know how facts are twisted!! Don't even begin to tell me that everything is on the up and up in Catoosa County. I know for a fact that it isn't!!!

I have been following this blog closely and have not seen any comments deleted...they are what they are just like yours is what it is..right or wrong. There are too many people in this town who believe ms. Craft to be innocent....for something to not smell really bad....good people don't back child molesters. Check your facts my friend

It is funny that those of us asking for truth have no need to hide who we are but those who support and praise this sham of a trial remain hidden? The truth is not afraid of the light.

Anon 8:57 is a lying punk. The only post that Bill has deleted was filled with defamation against the judge and DA. It is likely that the punk wrote it himself.

Moreover, anyone who thinks that allegations of child sexual abuse are prosecuted in alignment with traditional notions of Western justice is wrong. The statutes passed by legislatures and procedures used by judges have turned them into witch hunts, complete with hearsay and the dumping of garbage from the orifices of "experts" who have sprung forth from the dung heap of psychological clap trap.

I feel like I know Tonya because she has been supported during this entire ordeal by two of my best friends. I feel her pain because I have been going through simlar injustices at the hands of the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit. In short they based my child support on my gross income instead of adjusted gross income and ran me into bankruptcy. I have been alienated from my children whom I love and miss very much.
I have met tonya and kept up with her case and am convinced of her innocence. My wife says that she doesn't know Tonya but after studying what she is going through, she wants to be her friend. We admire the way that she has continued to keep her dignity while passing through what would take others to a rubber room or worse.
People who use there own children to bear false witness have a place prepared for them even though their children will be held blameless.
My wife is a victim of abuse as a child and she remembers every detail almost 40 years later. It is one of those life altering events that transcend time and age. It was best brought to attention in the classic book ( The Catcher in the Rye, J.D. Salinger)
I pray for those who disregard the purity and innocence of others to fulfill their own selfish goals.
Thank You William Anderson for shedding light on the need for justice in this life.

If there are any lawyers out there, I have a question. Why would a judge disallow something as simple as a power application that shows someone is committing perjury.

I am a bit amazed at that. Would not that type of ruling simply be solid grounds for appeal?

William L. Anderson said...

To Kerwyn: That would be grounds for appeal, and I suppose that the defense is preparing a huge dossier in case there is a conviction and they appeal.

To the 8:57, I deleted some posts that either had sexual innuendo or clearly were defamatory. I have not deleted any posts that disagree with my interpretations of the fact of the case. You have to remember that there are a lot of people out there, including people who are fairly prominent and well-respected. Furthermore, I have a lot of good sources, both factual and legal, and I believe I am standing on very firm ground.

I believe in truth, not intimidation.

I also posted this under the "Did the Witness Commit Perjury" blog, but it seems relevant to this section as well.
The Jan. 9, 2008 Walker Co. Messenger newspaper did a front page story on the young actress and her family and states that she took acting classes and lists the teachers at the John Robert Powers school she studied with. Surely this is admissible??http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=368&dat=20080109&id=mU4zAAAAIBAJ&sjid=IyUMAAAAIBAJ&pg=2883,121386

Thank you for your blog. When I saw Brian Houses website I immediately thought about the passage above. He litters his page with his Church membership, and attendance at J-Fest. Nothing like a wolf in sheep's clothing.

To all of the anon posters that feel that justice is being served... I certainly hope that you are never in Tonya Craft's shoes. Are you going to seriously tell us that it is OK to not allow the defense to present witnesses to say they never saw these acts? It is OK in your mind that she was percieved as guilty the moment she said the word attorney??? And tell me dear is it OK in your mind that the Catoosa County school board took less than 10 minutes to fire her after not explaining all of her options??? None of these are OK in the world I live in. Clearly we live in different places. This whole thing is like a Lifetime movie. Nothing short of a witch hunt. So tell us one more time how are you related to Sandra Lamb??? It certaily seems that you are!!!

Correction on my previous comment, it's the Chickamagua Schools, not the Catoosa County Schools.

To Anonymous (9:15): You said, "Truth remains steadfast, lies fall apart!!!" We can only HOPE that is true, because apparently there are many lies being told in the testimony so far.

To Anonymous (8:57): What "biased sources" do you claim that Bill is getting his facts from? Are you implying that everything that has gone on in this court is on the up and up? Are you implying that she isn't guilty until proven innocent?

WOW!! I could say soooo much here, but there may not be enough room on this page. What I will say is I agree with Harmony...the truth is NOT afraid of the light. I am a person of faith, not religeon. I am a person who looks at every side, keeping my mind open. I am a believer of truth, and always make extra efforts to listen. As Jesus said, 'Those who see the truth hear my voice'. Here's the truth....Tonya is innocent. Now that I have said my peace, I will go back into the light.

Justine Valinotti said...

Like Connie Wilson, I am a person of faith but not religion. I, too, believe that if those so-called witnesses (What, exactly, did they witness?) are telling the truth, many people involved in the case would behave differently. Tonya Craft is not one of them.

Count me as another victim of childhood sexual abuse who believes Tonya.

Anonymous said...

I think it is very interesting that many of us true victims of childhood sexual abuse believe that she is INNOCENT!!!

Anonymous said...

I too believe she is innocent and I have someone very close to me who was a victim of a child molestor. If anyone wants to see them all behind bars, it would be me. However, things just don't add up in this case. I think the DA will regret opening this can of worms!!

If I recall correctly during Sandra Lamb’s testimony, she indicated she had not hired an attorney; but had consulted with her divorce attorney on this case. (Following text taken from the Chattanoogan.com, April 19, 2010)

Room Mother, Mom Of Alleged Victim Testify At Tonya Craft Trial
by Dennis Norwood
posted April 19, 2010
Attorney King then questioned the mom about her hiring a lawyer for this case. She denied she had done so, but said she had spoken with an attorney. “Is it the same attorney that is representing you in your divorce?” “Yes, it is,” was the answer.

However, in a previous story the Chattanoogan.com posted on August 15, 2008, it shares a different view of “consulted with” vs. hiring of the same attorney.

Chickamauga School Board Fires Accused Teacher
by Judy Frank
posted August 15, 2008
But Ms. Lamb’s attorney, Lawrence Stag, told the board that he had advised Ms. Lamb not to appear because no arrangements had been made to pay her travel and other expenses.

Since Ms. Lamb lives in Catoosa County and the hearing was held in Walker County, she is entitled to be reimbursed for all her expenses, Mr. Stag said.

Just another observation of “bending” the truth!

Anonymous said...

After reading some case law I now understand the arrogance of the witnesses and prosecutors in this case. Seems just the accusation under Georgia law is enough for conviction. Ironically, the only appealed cases I found for Arnt and Gregor were by an appellant lawyer named Brian M House. So much for the justice...

Anonymous said...

Stagg thought Ms. Lamb should be reimbursed for traveling expenses?? Give me a break, these are adjoining counties, it is not like she had to travel a great distance and she travels from Catoosa to Walker to take her kid to school. Also, from what I hear, she has plenty of money. Wish I could be reimbursed for all that Catoosa County has cost my family.

Jesus was not a child molester.

Anonymous said...

Jesus also didn't falsy accuse people of being child molesters.

Anonymous said...

Jesus is the Risen Savior of the universe. Tanya Craft is, at best, an oversexed small-town socialite, and at worst, a child molester. To compare the prosecution to the Sanhedrin, and thereby compare Tanya Craft to Jesus, is pure blasphemy. I think Mr. Anderson might need to get a few logs out of his eye.

TIDDYBEAR said...

Anonymous 7:43: Where is it written that Tonya is oversexed? And what does that have to do with the price of tea in China??
It was another "Anonymous" that said, "Jesus is not a child molester" and "Jesus didn't falsely accuse", so why are you saying anything about Mr. Anderson?

I don't understand you Anonymous people.... running your mouth, but you don't have the guts to post your real name!
