It's Not Over, Phil

[Update II, Monday May 24, 9:00 PM]: The long-awaited video of Sandra Lamb committing what legally is called a "hate crime" was aired on Channel 3 tonight, along with an interview with the wrongfully-arrested Eric Echols, who was the target of Lamb's assault and accompanying racial slur. I will be sending that link along with a letter to the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division, this week, along with a copy to the Georgia Attorney General's Office.

And, if things cannot get any more bizarre in the LMJC, it turns out that "judge" Kristina Cook Connelly Graham let her State Bar membership status go "inactive," and it was officially inactive during the trial and wrongful conviction of Brad Wade in 2007. Whether or not this has any effect on his appeal, I don't know, but it does tell us something about the commitment of the LMJC "judges" to their jobs.

[End Update]

[Update I, Monday May 24, 4:15 PM]: Tonya Craft has filed a $25 million lawsuit against a number of people involved in accusing and trying her. The lawsuit is in federal court. Details are reported by WRCB-TV. The Chattanoogan also has a great story that is well-detailed.

[End Update]

So, Sheriff Phil Summers continues to claim that because he and his friends could not convince a jury to wrongfully convict Tonya Craft, that there is going to be a wave of child molestation all over Catoosa County and maybe the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit. Like his friend Buzz Franklin and ADAs Chris "Facebook" Arnt and Len "The Man" Gregor, he actually seems to believe that people have not caught onto their rigged games.

The article in Sunday's Times-Free Press declares:
A highly publicized child molestation trial and weeks of acrimonious court proceedings could deter parents from bringing suspected abuse cases forward in the future, local officials said.

"I do have a concern about children that are victimized and the families coming forward in the future," Catoosa County Sheriff Phil Summers said. "Will they be willing to take a chance that their child will be put through the same scrutiny and the same process that we've just seen?"
First, had there been the proper scrutiny when Sandra Lamb and Joal Henke were making claims at the beginning, there would have been no trial. Second, the defense did what the defense should have been doing all along in the child molestation trials held in the LMJC: defend their clients instead of offering them up to the prosecution as so many sacrifices.

Third, if Summers and his friends cannot tell the difference between authentic child molestation and something that has been trumped up by people looking to settle personal scores, with their accomplices at the Children's Advocacy Centers of Northwest Georgia helping to grease the skids by employing rigged "interviews," then I'd hate to see what would happen if someone actually committed a real crime in that district. Fourth, this pity party by Summers and company needs to end, because it is not over for them.

This evening, Channel 3 news is going to broadcast video footage of Sandra Lamb in which she will be shown committing a hate crime, complete with racial slurs against Eric Echols when he legally served a subpoena on her that she refused to take. (She claims that her "attorney friend" Chris Arnt told her not to accept it, and if that is true, then he told her not to obey the law.) Furthermore, people will see that she filed a police report against Mr. Echols that did not square with the events of the day.

Despite the fact that Summers is demanding that no one ever scrutinize any accusations of child molestation in Catoosa County, no matter what the facts of the case might be, it is important to do just that. What Summers really is saying is that he does not care if people are wrongly convicted and sent to prison, just as long as his office and his buddies can look as though they are "protecting" the LMJC from "child molesters," and as long as the district can get Mondale Act money.

I remember right after North Carolina Attorney General Roy Cooper announced he was dropping the rape charges against the Duke lacrosse players, the Usual Suspects claimed that women no longer would report they had been raped out of fear of not being believed. Right. In reality, the case had NO effect on the reporting of rape charges, false and true. Business went on as usual.

Likewise, what Summers is claiming is that no matter how flimsy the evidence and how dishonest the prosecution's case might be, a jury MUST ALWAYS convict if someone is charged with child molestation for fear that someone, somewhere, might get away with it. I hate to tell Summer and his partners-in-crime, Arnt, Gregor, and Franklin, that U.S. criminal law still allegedly is based upon protecting the rights of the accused.

Furthermore, the man who influenced U.S. law more than any other person, William Blackstone, once wrote that it was better that "20 guilty men go free than once innocent man convicted." Unfortunately, Summers and the gaggle of prosecutors and judges in the LMJC believe that wrongful convictions are just fine with them, and the more wrongful convictions, the better.

When I first started blogging on the Tonya Craft case, I thought it was an example of overzealous prosecution. Now that I have been intensely writing about this situation for more than six weeks, I realize that I have stumbled onto something that is much more sinister. Wrongful convictions in the LMJC are not the result of overzealousness; they are the result of prosecutors and police who actively target people, frame them, and then go into a self-pitying rage when a jury sees through their dishonesty.

Later today, viewers will see Sandra Lamb committing a criminal act, a crime that is so blatant that even though Summers and the Usual Suspects at Franklin's office will choose to ignore it, federal authorities may not. Furthermore, because Arnt, Gregor, and Franklin insist on pursuing non-existed criminal charges in a racially-motivated case against Mr. Echols, and because Gregor tried to appeal to a racist "Tonya-Craft-is-sleeping-with-a-black-man" line during Ms. Craft's trial, they practically have invited the U.S. Department of Justice to take a hard look at what is happening.

As I said in the title, this case is not over. It is not over for Mr. Echols, for Brad Wade, for a number of other falsely-accused people in the LMJC, and certainly not over for people who have had their fill of this dishonesty. This should be a most interesting week.

Bye Bye Phil! I hope you understand that the people of Catoosa County voted you in and NOW they WILL vote you OUT! I hope you enjoy the last days as a Sherriff because it is coming to an end. I never liked you and have always wondered why you were always voted in. I guess you have power of intimidation over others but no matter what the people will speak.

You need to worry about keeping crime out of your own family and everyone knows that you deal more drugs than anyone else in the county.

Can't wait til 2012 so we the people can run these elected so called citizens right out of office.

You guys (Phil, Len, Arnt, Franklin, Grahm, Wood, VanPelt, House) have always wanted to clean up the county. Well now its the citizens turn to clean house.

So long and good riddance.

Does it seem strange to anyone that with the means these parents have they wouldn't demand their child to be treated by a top psychiatrist or psychologist w/a doctorate if they really believed their child was molested? Is there some reason you would have to go to this CAC. It seems to me that the parents of the accused don't want their children to be treated by a real doctor. Most people of means don't bother with anything in their area if they live in a rural area. Their clothes come from the best stores in the bigger cities, their furniture might even come from the Pottery Barn and Crate and Barrels of the world. So why would you allow someone who doesn't have a doctorate and accomplished in this field to work with your child?

Yes it will be a day of reckoning for those in power who have decided the outcome just because they can. Isn't that sort of like Professional Wrestling? Professional Wrestling parallels the level of integrity of the little network of "stars" in the LMJC.

2012 will be the year of taking out the TRASH. I wish it were sooner!

How much you wanna bet that, at 4:45 today, a friendly judge will issue a gag order on the Echols case.

Yesterday's TFP article is on their website. There are four comments. Three of them are nice, but number four seems to "point a finger" at Mr. Anderson.

The clip channel 3 is showing about Mr. Echols is strange. The woman seems to be shouting at him about showing up when her child is at home. I feel her child seeing her act that way is much worse for him/her. Thank goodness she wasn't alone. I don't want to imagine what she would be accusing Mr. Echols of doing. Bobb

People get busy with their lives and tend to let things fade away and/or begin to feel less involved in issues as time passes. 2012 is a long time to keep up the energy for righting an injustice. I see it as everyones' best interest to keep being informed and make sure the good people vote out of office these people when the time comes.

Anon 9:03 - no bet. I expected it to happen after 5PM Friday, but I guess they didn't want anyone to appeal the order to a higher authority. That's business as usual in these types of cases, as I've discovered while checking out TC and BW's trials. Let any speck of the truth come out beforehand? Why, that smacks of equality in a trial, something the LMJC seems to have walked away from long ago. Bill, love how you distill the whole thing into a few short observations. That's the problem down here. Folks have to sift through a lot of chaff to find the nuggets of information.

William you are doing a fantastic job and I wish you would send your response to "Buzz's" not guilty verdict diatribe to the Dade County Sentinel. It was a great rebuttal and the people of this county need to see both sides, not just the LMJC side.

Thanks.

If Catoosa County really wanted child molestors off the street, why did they ignore Eddie Bomar for so many years?? Why, when he was the jailer for Catoosa Co. and he molested a 17 year old inmate, did they just let him go, but not prosecute him?? Why, when so many people knew about his activities, did everyone look the other way?? Why when they had a lot of evidence did they let him plea to a 40 year sentence with only 4 years of jail time. Folks he is on the streets of Catoosa Co. right now and his wife has a Facebook page and I have no doubt he trolls on it looking for kids. Maybe if the Sherriff and the DA spent this much effort on real child molestors, we would have a safe town to live in.

Phil Summers is a NAZI. He would have followed his Fuhrer to his death. Not only is he a NAZI, he must just be plain stupid on top of it.

If the jury and 97% of other people (who had all of the evidence which the jury wasn't allowed to see) think that the right verdict was reached, yet he still thinks otherwise . . . it's frightening.

PHIL, YOU ARE AN IGNORANT PILE OF DOG FECES AND YOU ARE GOING DOWN BECAUSE YOU ARE TOO STUPID TO ADMIT WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS LADY WAS WRONG. ONCE YOU'RE GONE WHO'S GOING TO PROTECT YOU THUG SON?

According to the logic of Phil, we must put innocent people behind bars to make it safe for rape victims to come forward. Sides, Sandra Lamb had privacy until she stepped forward and identified herself as the mother of one of the alleged sexual assault victims. It's funny no one was worried about the privacy of Mrs. Craft while we learned beyond a reasonable doubt she wears thong underwear.

I read the article about Summers being unchallanged in the past 3 elections.

Here is quotes from Phil Summers being intervied by Times Free Press

"Q: Your primary role is crime prevention. What is the state of crime in Catoosa County?

A: When originally elected, one of our major focuses was to reduce crime in Catoosa County, and we have been very successful in that. We are actually below the crime ratio we were at in 1990. We have not only reduced crime, but we have held those numbers down consistently.

Q: How have you done that?

A: Community policing programs have been a benefit. We have also had success prosecuting crimes in Catoosa County, because we have learned from experience that repeat offenders are responsible for a lot of crime. We have held a 98 percent conviction rate over the 18 years that I’ve served as sheriff on all crimes that occur in Catoosa County. Not only are we solving those cases, but we are aggressively prosecuting and convicting those individuals and taking them off the street."

We agree with you that you aggressively prosecute and convict but WAKE UP, its innocent citizens. And if you want to lower crime even more, then quit accusing innocent people.

I knew Phil Summers was in this the whole way.

Anon 9:03,

I doubt if a gag order would alter what Channel 3 will be showing tonight. A gag order would apply to the parties in the case, restricting them from going public AFTER the order has been issued.

Anything pre-recorded is fair game, including the recording of Saundra's actions towards Echols. So a gag order would only alter a LIVE interview, and I'd bet that if Echols is interviewed in Channel 3's upcoming program, it was done before they announced the broadcast would be this evening.

It's possible that Echols may still be live tonight, but I'm confident Channel 3 has Plan B ready if the order came.

*****************

Sheriff Phil Summers:
"Community policing programs have been a benefit.

The volunteers, "Casino Night", people reporting others for spite, reports of any natural 'child-on-child' activities involving curious little children ...to the CAC and LE offices are a result of the mindset that "Community policing" brings about.

Instead of parents of any children involved just working to help their child through some minor episode that could be remedied with a little loving attention and telling the children what shouldn't be allowed, the mindset of "Community policing" pushes the idea to focus on having been or being a 'victim'.

When I think of some mother swatting her child with a belt for touching another in the 'privates', the easiest answer as to WHY she is so harsh is the peer pressure of the "Community policing".

Anonymous said...

Jennifer, the anon poster was saying exactly that it is a disgrace for us to fly those flags in memory of all of the veterans & in turn, our system has abused the very rights those men & women fought for. My grandfather, uncle & several family friends have flags flying in their honor & I can say this, every single one of them are rolling over in their graves at what this community has become. These are people who lived throught the Brown & Stewart eras & would find themselves more disgusted at what is going on. The anon poster did not say anything offensive regarding the people the flags represent, he/she was simply stating that it is contradictory to what we have seen over the last few years. One thing I think we can all agree on is our love of country & that is what angers so many on what has taken place.

Cyril Lucar said...

If I remember correctly, one of the precipitating events in this whole escapade was that Tonya Craft reported her ex-husband's wife for bathing with and shaving her privates in front of her young daughter. Then, Tonya ended up with sexual abuse accusations made against her by the party that she had reported. Two other parties with questionable motivations made charges against her and the "evidence" to support those charges was, in effect, thrown out of court by a jury.

I AGREE WITH SHERIFF SUMMERS, people are going to hesitate to report suspected child abuse. Why would someone report suspected child abuse when they know that they may be retaliated against with spurious charges and the Sheriff and prosecutors will exercise no judgment or restraint? Why would I trust LMJD to fairly prosecute anything?

Larry Black is just as corrupt as Summers. We need someone with integrity. We need someone with a military & police background, not just someone who has had "sheriff aspirations" their whole life.

What we need to do is set up a website where we can keep the political aspect up-to-date. Someone had mentioned in the last comment thread that it is so easy to let things like this go by the wayside, so we need something to keep us going & maybe throw some names out there. With this, we can also keep awareness up, talk about fundraising for good candidates & campaign for good ones. We can put everything on the table & keep everyone in the LMJC informed. Anyone have any suggestions?

@ Cyril ...

I recently asked a DFCS worker about filing a report on my ex-husband for things going on in HIS custody during visitation that I feel are inappropriate. The DFCS worker explained to me that he could indeed take a report, however, the case would be opened on ME because I'm the custodial parent and I would be investigated. I listened to him explain to me, TWICE, the rationale behind that process and twice I looked at him as though he were speaking Japanese. I am still appalled at his explanation. Not once did he indicate they would actually investigate my ex-husband.

I still don't understand how investigating, only the person reporting the issue, solves the problem when it takes place in the custody of someone else.

In Tonya's case, I can now (after hearing that explanation) see just how easy it was for a spiteful bitter ex-husband to manipulate the situation to his advantage. Being in a similar situation, I thank God for Tonya and her ordeal because it has opened my eyes and I have learned from it. Needless to say, I will not report anything of concern to DFCS -- I will always go through my attorney. If I am ever instructed to go to the Ft. Oglethorpe CAC, I will insist on going somewhere else with competent professionals and I will insist on seeing their credentials first.

First let me say and not be misunderstood. Congrats to Tonya for filing a civil lawsuit against her accusers. But let me open the eyes of all the residents of Catoosa County, if that lawsuit includes Catoosa County then we are in for a hard road my fellow county members. Buzzard can say that the 1st trial didn't cost the county anything extra, but this lawsuit if Tonya wins and lord knows I hope she does, will come out of taxpayer pockets. There will be an increase in taxes, more tickets wrote by police officers, any way they can make money to pay this they will. Because its not going to come out of any of those peoples pockets. So be active in the next election. Review who ever is running with a fine tooth comb. And to the nice lady that keeps posting the letter, can you get something together for us to send to our congress people also. They need to have mail also letting them know that we are not going to allow people like this to continue to be responsible for our fates. People of the LMJC flood all these people with mail. Because when you are not happy they know that their job is on the line, they know that they have to do something or not be elected again. Make your elected official work for their money. If you want to see action from someone start messing with that someone's bottom dollar.Call, email, or snail mail these people until they are forced to take action.

Cyril, that's a great point.

Here's an issue with CAC. When an examiner suspects that the have found evidence of molestation, theya are to document the evidence, photographically or vidiographically with a diagnostic-quality camera. They are then to turn that evidence over to an expert (i.e. medical doctor) instead of taking the evidence directly to the police or even social workers. It is a medical doctor who is supposed to make the official determination that abuse has occurred. Someone who posted here several times is a SANE. Back me up here. Does CAC's policy of determining abuse and taking the evidence directly to the police not go against established procedures? Or are the authors of "Guidelines for Medical Care of Children Who May Have Been Sexually Abused” in the Journal of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology just blowing hot air?

I hope that one entity Ms Craft is suing is CAC for their role in all of this.

Lame,

Every State has slightly different procedures for reporting. To my knowledge, the CAC did indeed have a doctor "sign" off on the sane exam FIVE (yes 5) months after it was done.

The doc NEVER personally examined the alleged victims, but instead just nodded his/her head at the SANE.

In the states where I work, if I make a finding for sexual assault, a pediatrician (with assault training) will come in and VERIFY or not my findings BEFORE signing the SANE paperwork.

The SANE in question was using examination techniques and knowledge that are almost 10 years outdated. Current literature as well as several very well known case studies show that some of the findings she "found" exist in almost 50% of children who have NEVER been sexually assaulted and other of her findings are found in over 65% of children who have never been sexually assaulted....
ie normal findings.

The CAC needs to come into the current world if they are going to be working with abused children. Apparently, they feel that an "occasional" seminar is enough to be top in your field.

Oh, what a sight it would be if Echols could personally serve all those defendants.

A physician trained in assault didn't examine the children, just signed off? What on earth? How can a lay person truly be able to determine something as this and be admissible in court? Doesn't seem 'kosher' does it?

Firstly, the video Eric Echols took of Sandra Lamb was very telling, of her character and his restraint. And I understand she used her son to block him, although Echols didn't name the child. Good for him.
Secondly, I'm thinking that since Echols referred to having JM on tape giving contradictory statements to his testimony in court, JM might be cooperating with TC's lawyers now.
But mostly, I hope Tonya wins this case, especially in changing how CAC works. The money may sound huge but cities and counties carry liability insurance and our taxes pay for it. Like Tri-State, the insurance will pay for any damages. But I hope this case goes in front of a jury because I want to see those people squirm as much as they made her squirm. Yeah, nasty. But I'm human and my husband almost went through what she did. We couldn't have afforded a 1/2 million defense and he would have gone to prison. Tonya's courage in continuing her fight even with her acquittal will mean a lot to people falsely accused in the future.
Great story on Channel 3's part.

Not to mention, if Tonya wins her civil case, it may make it that much easier to get somebody to look at all the other child molestation cases.

*******
Anybody else catch the hint by Melydia that Echols may, too, choose to file civil charges later? That would be another strike against Summers and the DA's office who obviously didn't even bother with investigating before filing charges and arresting him. If they had done so, they would have KNOWN there was a tape and they would have also known that Echols did not threaten anybody. Rumor has it that it was actually McDonald who was threatened with obstruction of justice charges if he didn't agree with the charges.

While I have NO doubt whatsoever that charges against Echol will be dropped, I am not so sure that Echol won't file civil charges eventually.

Kerwyn,

Just read your facebook comment and am completely intrigued with this part, "What most of you do NOT know, is that other good friends of the Lambs also came forward with their children and wild wild stories that even Deal, Arnt, Gregor and House couldn't justify and thus you heard NOTHING about them. Even Gregor and Arnt were not stupid enough to try to hunt those dogs.

One parent actually took pictures of her son's genitals with her cell phone and claimed the young man had done it because of Craft. Now it is incredibly rare to find any molester that crosses genders. So this womans story was so bizarre and out there as to be astonishing. SHE was willing to put her young son through the glory of the CAC just to help Ms. Lamb with her campaign."

This MUST be where Sheriff Summers came up with his version of additional victims. LOL My goodness, it seems that he left out these ridiculous details. Phil, you need to resign, for real. You are not competent (or honest) enough to fulfill your elected term. Please do the citizens a favor and resign. Thank you.

Did Buzz actually say that it was going to cost taxpayers money because quite frankly Buzz should be keeping his mouth shut right about now.

Somebody already stated that Catoosa County carries liability insurance for these things when they happen so it shouldn't cost the taxpayers much at all. Most municipalities carry this type of insurance.

Kerwyn said...

Kaye,

In Deal and Keith's "notes" the magic ones that appear suddenly in the middle of court, they talk about a woman named Carroll who calls and says (paraphrased) that she "found" a picture of her son's genitals on her cell phone (ALL children use mom's phone to take pics of their privates uh huh) and when she asked him why he said it was because of Ms. Craft. He was taken in and interviewed by ... you guessed it... Long. After the interview, she calls Deal and tells him her son "suddenly" has admitted to more. It got more ridiculous from there......

I don't know how many times I can say this but, molesters as a general rule, like one gender. Those that like little girls, don't like little boys and vice versa.

At that point in reading those detectives notes, it became glaringly obvious to me at least, what was really going on.

All these children, all these parents with the OH my kid suddenly remembers, or the children with the "suddenly remembers" or they themselves who "suddenly remember" went beyond what anyone with two brain cells would believe.

You are absolutely correct, municipalities must carry liability insurance. A close friend was the mayor of a small city and was sued, actually more than once and the liability was covered by the city's insurance so he's blowing smoke other than the insurance rates MAY go up but to mislead citizens into thinking they will have their taxes go up is dishonest IMO.

Oh, I almost forgot about a couple of characters in the movie. Kristen Bradley will be played by Cinnamon J. Scudworth, the principal on the show Clone High ("I'm going to turn the school into a theme park for my own amusement.") Either that or we could get Brookann Collier to play her--if you don't know who Brookann Collier is, google her. Sarah Henke will be played by Howard McNear, best known as Floyd the barber ("I give the best shave in Mayberry.") Detective Deal will be played by Lance Kinsey in his role as Lt Proctor from the Police Academy films. Brian House would be played by Fred Gwynne in his character Chamberlain Haller from My Cousin Vinny ("Counsil, that is a very well thought out and intelligent argument. Overrulled.") Sherrie Wilson would be played by, drumroll please...Kirstie Alley ("There's a thin woman inside me...too bad for her, she stood too close to the buffet.")

William L. Anderson said...

The reason is that they are peripheral to the whole thing. The major players are the prosecutors, Arnt and Gregor, Buzz Franklin, Phil Summers, Tim Deal, and the dirty bunch at the CAC.

Now, Sandra Lamb and Joal Henke, who were the ringleaders, certainly don't deserve any protection, either.

However, there also are personal reasons why I don't want people to be going after Ms. Bradley and Ms. Boyd, and I will leave it at that.

Yes, I understand how people feel, and don't forget that I lived on the Georgia side of Lookout Mountain or in the Chattanooga area for 31 years. I have family living there, and I am tired of seeing the lives of good people being ruined by prosecutors like Franklin, Arnt, and Gregor.

THIS IS RACKETEERING! If anyone thinks that Brian House got where he is alone they are wrong. He practiced law before the likes of Judge Ralph Van Pelt, who is the Godfather of LMJC, and he learned that his behavior was how it was done. If anything Brian is a foolish pawn that Van Pelt helped get in knowing he could control him. The 4 LMJC judges are the most arrogant & dangerous people in that courtroom - not the criminals. If the judges aren't voted out (2 are up this year!) then once again ignorance and laziness is what keeps them in power. Do the people inside tehse counties not even realize that it could be you next!? While Judge House broke every ethical standard, Judge Cook-Graham was not only reprimanded the same day as the verdict by the Judicial Qualification Commission BUT she has been ineligible to practice law! Judge Van Pelt sits over all of them and he allows Attorney Stagg to be his Election Chairman and Treasurer and then bring an estimated 75% of his cases before him without revealing their very fiduciary relationship. A few hours of pulling cases and you can see the patterns of cases that Atty Stultz and Atty Stagg have heard before Van Pelt - ALL FRIENDS and as far as I am concerned business associates since Stagg collects money and runs the campaign that effects both of their careers! Totally against Judicial Canons! Judge Bowling Woods arrested a mom for putting up a billboard to change ex parte laws AFTER SHE TOOK IT DOWN and he made her pay NOT THE COURT but Laryy Stagg 2000.00...for what??? It is RACKETEERING at its sleeziest because it is in OUR judicial system! TWO ARE UP FOR ELECTION THIS YEAR SO VOTE "NO" TO RETAIN!

Most people here on this blog know where I stand on this issue. That Tonya Craft is and was innocent, this case should never have been brought to trial and that the people who lied, cheated and manipulated the system to formulate a conviction should pay with their jobs (at the very least).

Reading the comments here tonight gives me some pause and I need to vent a little bit.

1) I understand the anger and frustration that the good people of North Western Georgia must feel. I also understand the need to act on those feelings. However, I am compelled to point out that in part, the behavior exhibited here to peripheral individuals (like Bradley and Boyd) is exactly the same "witch hunt" dynamic that kick-started the case against Tonya Craft.

2) I hope Tonya Craft is successful in her civil suit (and any other remedy that may be coming along). But I take issue with the statements that seem to think that the people of Catoosa County don't have anything to lose because of liability insurance coverage.

That insurance is funded by the premiums we all pay, the money indeed comes from all of you. If the insurance company pays out, then it will raise rates to cover the loss. In short, it WILL come out of your pockets.

As long as Summers, Frankin, Arnt, Gregor, the CAC, The GreenHouse, etc. are allowed to continue with business as usual, the people of the LMJC will pay either with their freedom, rights or wallets.

Focus your anger and frustration at the system that perpetrated this incredible fraud. Use the tools of democracy to change it for the better. Vote to replace and recall the people in charge, then demand that system (CAC, The GreenHouse, etc.) that supports them are held accountable and either are forced to close their doors or follow the clear and established guidelines, best practices and procedures that were designed to prevent cases like Tonya's from destroying the lives of those accused and the innocence and lives of the accusers.

"Sister" and others asking about Judge Graham,

I'm far from being an expert, but knowing Georgia has Magistrates, I would not get my hopes up too much.

In all states I've read about that had Magistrates, including Georgia I'm fairly certain, they do not have to be members of the bar to render their verdicts or sentences. I'm not sure where they draw the line that limits a Magistrate, but I sense that a judge with an "inactive" license could do as much or more than a Magistrate.

You'll need to find an attorney to determine where that line is, or maybe ask the reporters to ask attorneys for you.

Anonymous said...

Yes we have magistrate judges, but they don't preside over felony cases, so I would think all of her cases during this time, at least the felonies would be up for review.

I'm so proud of Tonya - I don't think that she gives a rip about the money. She wants to save the children.

Leave the veterans out of this. Iknow exactly what the veterans would have done. No rolling over in graves. Back in the day, Tonya Craft would have been tarred and feathered and "run out on a rail" in the '60's. I miss my friend JD, things went alot smoother back them. (Veteran Mike)

Dr. and a Nurse with an Associates Degree, When a Detective allegedly doctor's documents and employees of the CAC keep asking ? until they get the answer they want, GUESS WHAT..none of us are safe from a malicious prosecution, that means you. I can guarantee if you were accused of the same crimes and were innocent of them as Tonya Craft is and you didn't have the money for a decent defense you would go to prison. You need to think about that instead of wishing a deceased sheriff were still in office. From the way it sounds if he were still alive you would be safe from prosecution even if you were guilty and that my friend is what needs to stop. You see the rights we are all guaranteed, such as the right to a fair trail, innocent until proven guilty...that is why MY grandfather fought for this country! I say we take it back for me and for you.

The first quote by Dan...I have to disagree! They don't compare in the least and are certainly not "exactly the same"! Bottom line: the witch hunt was based on lies and deceit.
Mr. Anderson, I've been with you 100%, until this comment you made so mysteriously about having "personal reasons" for leaving out Boyd and Bradley. If they are guilty players in this "witch hunt", then they need to be held accountable as well-if only by being called out and named in a blog. You don't get to pick and choose who has to answer for their actions and who does not. Isn't that bias what you are against?! Maybe you have a good reason, but "personal reasons" and "I'll leave it at that" doesn't sound fair to me!

Speaking of veterans and rights to do things, I thought I'd share with y'all a story from when I visited Normandy, France in 2001.

There is a beach near Bayeux that on June 6, 1944, and shall ever-after be known as Omaha Beach. Whilst strolling the beach with some other people who contracted to take a local tour, we witnessed several houses built along the bluffs, sand castles built on the strand, families enjoying free time on the ocean's edge, and children wading and swimming in the surf.

One member of said tour group commented aloud, "This is hallowed ground. People fought and died here. They shouldn't allow people to do this."

For a moment I was inclined to agree, for this is indeed hallowed ground, no different from Gettysburg, Manassas or Yorktown. But, after thinking the matter over for a second I realized that, yes, this is hallowed ground, but that should not preclude these goings-on.

Fighting back the emotion similar to that of a person who had just found God's forgiveness and accepted salvation, I managed to respond, "You're wrong. These people should be allowed to do all of this that they are doing, and more. After all, it was for their right to be able to do this that those men fought and died. Look at those children playing over there. They can play here because a group of Americans gave their lives. They died for freedom, and that is what these people are enjoying."

Memorial Day is next week. When you go to the store and buy some food, remember that it is because of those men and women who gave their lives that you don't have to stand in line for 48 hours just to buy a half-pound of cheeese. When you drop your kids off at school, remember that it is because of those men and women who never came home that your kids will receive an education designed to build them into responsible citizens and not indoctrinating them to blindly follow some Fuhrer. When you wake up that day, remember that it is because they gave up all of their tomorrows that we have the right to do whatever we want today.

It is said that we never truly appreciate freedom until it is taken away. Out of all of us, people like Tonya Craft most know and appreciate freedom. If you see a veteran this Memorial Day, thank them. If you see Tonya Craft, tell her, "Never forget that it is because of those men and women who died that you were tried by a system that, while corrupted, is still the best on the planet." If she is the kind of person we believe her to be, she will not be wearing yellow this coming Monday. She will be wearing Red, White, and Blue, because she truly does appreciate their sacfifice.

Omg 5:31! You are obviously trying to rile people up. JD? Really? The ONLY thing I ever will agree with JD doing is taking kids to their parents for punishment for just being kids. Other than that, I have nothing! He was crooked & made himself a name all the way up into a podunk area in Canada. The reasons were not good either. He was rogue & ridiculous. If you are a veteran, you truly can not believe what you said. If you do, then I am going to say something I normally wouldn't do & call you an idiot! Heavens to mergatroid.

phil summers hasn't figured out the cost of the investigation yet but the County Manage already has his numbers on the cost to the county. Strange!! And he's going to help prepare a vigorous defense. But yet he says “The county didn’t bear a lot of expense,” Summers said. “We didn’t have a very lengthy investigation. We moved on with things very quickly.” So I'm thinking, if had of investigated just a little more would we even be discussing his defense? Can't believe he acutally was quoted in the catoosa paper with the above quote. No "lengthy investigation" yet you want to send someone to jail for a "lengthy" incarceration. REALLY? REALLY?
